GOT A HOUSE!!
That's right kids, Jamie and I are now officially home owners of a large 1625 square foot home in the south end of Regina, and honestly being in the housing market wasn't really as stressful as I thought it was going to be. This was the second offer we had put in on a house and with only one counter-offer it was ours. Funny how the market is though. In January when Jess was buying a house they offered less than asking and counter-offered with many conditions such as a furnace upgrade, shingles replaced, etc. We offered $30,000 over asking and got counter-offered UP 7,000 dollars. No conditions on our except the condition of financing just to save our but in the case the bank says NO. We did luck out though because the owners had bought the house last fall and still had the house inspection info. that they had done. They gave up the papers so we can look over it. As far as I know, the only thing we plan on doing this fall is painting the outside and replacing the shingles. This winter we plan on replacing the kitchen, appliances and hopefully, cross-our-fingers...adding a washroom in the lower level. If you can imagine, we have sprinklers in the front lawn, ha ha..Sure we will use them once just to see them in action and then never look at them again...till we are old and appreciate our lawn.
Emery/Tyler....we take possession on August 2nd but are not planning on moving till closer to the 15th of August....non-the-less, we don't have a garage at the new place so we will have to figure something out in regards to your stuff. All in time though, no worries just yet.
Well, for now I can rest knowing we are in the market and no longer trying desperately to be in the market!
